Funeral committees PDF Print E-mail

I am a worried man. The gay community in Kenya, well at least in Nairobi and its environs is small. This we have to admit to ourselves. I do not know of the lesbians or bisexuals or trans or inter sex but what I do know is that I have something I wish to talk about and I will do so by this.

If you are reading this, yes you, chances are:
a) I have already slept with you.
b) I have slept with someone who has slept with you; or,
c) I am going to sleep with you soon.

Cycles! Aha! Here is the crux of the matter! The other day, a young dashing guy I had a one night stand with came to a pub where I was with his 'boyfriend;' who you may guess -rightly so- I had a one night stand with previously. Now, I know guys who have slept with both these two and it made me think. What the fuck is up with all these cycles and recycling amongst us gay men? That why I am saying, if you are reading this, I have done you, I have done someone who has done you or I am going to do you upende usipende.

I looked back at these two fellows and I almost puked. Honestly. The thing with us gay men in Nairobi is that we are such a small number that if you engage in sex with someone, you are bound, given the cycle factor, to have slept with everybody. Its the truth. I can only speak for myself and say that yes, I am one of those people who isn't choosy. Whenever I see a guy I have not been intimate with, I am like a hungry saber-toothed tiger prowling. I will hunt that person down until I get what I want: good arse. Good ol' Ma! And immediately after, I will move on to another potential.

And what's up with our relationships? I am starting to believe that there is no such thing as 'true love' or 'relationships' among gay men. The relationships I have seen last as long as the sex lust is gone and over with. I hear of break-ups and divorces everyday and drama that two gay men have. Experts say that the average gay man (that's us, you fools) is more likely to engage in sexual activity with multiple partners than the average heterosexual man. True that. Now, we all know of what HIV/AIDS does and how serious it is. We do. But we still continue screwing everything that has two legs and we don't fucking care! No wonder, the same experts say that the HIV prevalence among gay men is higher compared to the general population. The day that kuchus start dying, we all are going. Seriously. When you hear a kuchu has died, start forming funeral committees.

But you don't have to wait till then. If you have to be immoral, as the same experts so suggest, rather discreetly, you also do not have to be stupid! Use a condom!

Wicked smile.
