In less than an hour hour, the US presidential debates will begin. The debate-that-almost-never-happened following Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain suspension of his campaign will begin at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
Senators McCain and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will debate on matters related to foreign policy. However,we expect a lot of discussion on the current US financial/economic crisis.
I suppose most people will be watching the debate live. In any case, I will blog the debate as it goes on. If you are interested in participating, just send a message, and the live chat will be displayed on the screen below.
Ole Miss
Interestingly, this nickname given to the University of Mississippi (in 1848) was a term of respect used by slaves for the wife of a plantation owner . A New York Times slideshow here shows Ole Miss' history in pictures.
This is the first presidential debate to be held in Mississipi.
