Obama Snub: The Real Implication PDF Print E-mail

This is not logic. This is not reasoning. It ought not be an actual exertion on any faculty. There is no need for convoluted syllogisms, and sparks ought not fly in anyone's cerebral cortex on account of pondering it. Why? Because it is commonsense. I had a Debonair's pizza today for lunch. What does that mean?

If you are really stuck up and have a prophet of doom for a doctor, that probably means that I am eating junk, leading an unheathy lifestyle, and will therefore be diabetic, hypertensive, impotent and arrythmic by the time I get into parliament, which is par for the course. However, that is all hogwash.

What it does actually mean is that I did not have chicken paprika, ugali, athola, esaga, mokimo, nyoyo, injeera or naan for lunch. You understand of course that assertion of the one eliminates all the others. The mention of one excludes everything else.

I am Ng'eno. Therefore, I am not Wamwere, Kingi, Joseph, Sanaipei, Gumbo, Muge, Abdulaziz or anyone else.

For the sake of our analysts, oralists, nose-ists, earists, and all other extremely intelligent pillars of the chattering classes, I will make this quite easy.

Obama went to Ghana. Therefore, Obama, husband of Michele, father of Malia, step-grandson of Sara and illustrious scion of Hussein Onyango and Barack Obama, did not go to Morocco, Western Sahara, Algeria, Mauritania, Senegal, the Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire,Togo, Benin,Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Libya, Tunisia, Sudan, Chad, Central African Republic, Congo, Zaire, Gabon, Nigeria, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, Madagascar,Malawi,Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda,Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Lesotho, Swaziland, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe etc.

If we want to continue with this ridiculous notion that by not going to the many countries I have enumerated, Mr Obama snubbed Kenya, I will humbly perform my duty to remind everyone that it is your right to be stupid....... in your own house only.

He also did not go to Greece, China, Ukraine, Moldovia, Tajikistan,Bahrain, Kalaalit Nunaat, Barbados,, Belize or Suriname.

He married Michele Robinson. Therefore, he did not marry Sanya Richards, Millicent Atieno, Milka Cheptepkeny, Rosina Waitherero, Prisca Mwampenda, Mary Ndinda, Rosemary Gatlin, Preeti Mansukhal, Zainab Ahmad, Lying Ching or M. Takayami.

I do hope that people will now shut up about Obama this-and-that as though his comings and goings are the ordained and indispensable parameters of our very existence. What all the noise about Obama snubbing Kenya really implies is that we are clueless. I am being my usual diplomatic self, naturally.

He is a phenomenally gifted dude, but despite all his power and goodwill, he has important things to do. Really important things. Kenya happens not to be one of them.

Get used to it.

You are right... I don't think snubbing Kenya is an important part of an American President's agenda.
