A day after Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Martha Karua resigned from her post in the coalition government, her NARC-Kenya colleague, the Medical Services Assistant Minister Mr. Danson Mungatana, has also resigned.
Like Karua, Mungatana cited the frustration working in a government that is unwilling to reform.
In a statement to the press he said,
I can't continue serving a government that is anti-reform. It is a matter of principles and that is why I have quit the government today," he told reporters.
Our party leader [Karua is the Secretary General of Narc-Kenya] has quit because she was frustrated in bringing reforms. I also quit today in solidarity with her and our party.
Mungatana, a key ally of Karua's in the PNU administration, was the Secretary General of the Coalition Government Party Group (GPG). Mungatana urged other senior government officials to resign if they wished to engage in reforming politics in the country.
Our message is very clear if your not on our side your on the wrong side of history. Kenyans are tired and want change.
