Michael Jackson died on June 25th, 2009 after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his LA residence. Jackson was arguably the most influential inter-generational musician who broke race, and cultural lines across the world. His 1982 album, Thriller, is to date the best selling album with an estimated over 100 million copies sold worldwide. Despite several legal issues, including accusations of improper acts with minors, Jackson has remained incredibly popular throughout the world. He was poised for a comeback tour before his sudden death with that was expected to re-establish him as one of the few musical powerhouses to have survived generational change.

His music influenced and touched milions of people around the world. What are your fondest Michael Jackson memories? Do you remember the first time you heard Thriller, Beat, Heal the World, Black or White? Did you attempt moonwalking in the mirror to Billy Jean

written by Ndege , June 26, 2009
I was lucky to be at his concerts on three diverent occassions when he was touring Europe in the late 80s. Man do I love his music! The times he accompanied me through the ups and downs of my live are too many to count. He will Always Be There. R.I.P. Michael. I'm devastated.

memories of michael jackson
written by joyful , June 26, 2009
my fondest memory is seeing this phenomenal talent at his concert in vancouver. it was either in 1986 or 1987 but it was at a time when the biggest names still did not come to play at this city. i always thought he was a great talent. it really is too bad he didn't seem happy to be black (hence the skin whitening) and had other issues to deal with in life. i think it took away from his talent and good qualities. i pray now for his children & his family. i hope he is now at rest.

Wow
written by June Njeri , June 26, 2009
My parents, who were both very religious, were convinced that MJ was a devil worshiper, that his music was evil so they did not allow me to listen to him. But I did. I found his music everywhere I went. And could even moonwalk.

You are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
But you are not alone
