(My Love & Pride) The Africa They Never Show You

Posted by Enigmaress in Untagged

The artist in me I cannot help but create & express myself. So I decided to combine my passion for ART & MUSIC to express the love, pride and respect that I have for Mama Africa. I hope that everyone who decides to view or share the video will also show love & respect for Africa & its awesome diversity of beautiful people.

Kind Request: Keep it PEACEFUL. The idea is to promote integration & encourage UNITY & ONENESS.

I also came across a comment/response on a video that someone had made showing the beauty of the Continent of Africa as a whole. I really loved this profound words and so I am going to share that response with everyone. It reads;

"It will be a beautiful day when Africans learn to respect and care for each other as they so emphatically like to care for foreigners. Then maybe, we can actually start to take care of each other and the millions of Africans scattered all over the globe, rather than always depending on people outside the continent to help us."

I Love it!

Peace, Love & Blessings To All.

(My love and pride) The Africa they never show
written by Suzyo Ngoma , October 17, 2009
Hi Lo,

I loved the video, the music was lovely and so where clips of the many beautiful countries we have in Africa. Job well down indeed outstanding and every African will feel proud.

Kindly note next time you present Africa please include all countries, i come from a country called Zambia and it was not included in the video, for us Zambians and other countries not shown feel left out on a good thing that we are supposed to be part of,and that alone brings a feeling of segregation.Unity is our goal as Africans.

Thanks.

Sincere Apologies For Your Disappointment On My Artistic Creation
written by Enigmaress , October 17, 2009
Suzyo Ngoma hi back to you.
To start with, thank you most sincerely and graciously for the beautiful comment/compliments, appreciation and positive sentiments in response to my video \'(My love and pride) The Africa They Never Show You\' that is absolutely kind of you & I am immensely humbled.

For the next part of my response, I am expressing this with nothing but absolute love & respect for you, and anyone else who may have somehow felt offended or left out from the video. So here goes;

You said,
\"i come from a country called Zambia and it was not included in the video, for us Zambians and other countries not shown feel left out on a good thing that we are supposed to be part of,and that alone brings a feeling of segregation.\"

1. \'(My love and pride) The Africa They Never Show You\' is just A PERSONAL ARTISTIC IMPRESSION of an artist(ME) based on shots/photos/pictures of different African cities a showing REPRESENTATION of the progress that the African continent has achieved in the past several years. I know each and every African country (including Zambia) and it immensely puzzles me as to why anyone would conclude that the video is somehow a way of segregating certain African countries from all the ones I represented in the video.

If you noticed the description on the video, I started by saying \"The artist in me cannot help but create & express myself. So I decided to combine my passion for ART & MUSIC to express the love, pride and respect that I have for Mamma Africa.\" In other words, I wasnt thinking about what anyone else would like on the video, I was creating it based on my own personal ideas but with a positive intention. I was inspired to create something that I viewed as a work of art for myself & later decided that it would really be awesome to share this ART (my art) with people who love what I love (fellow African people). Why would I create something that promotes segregation, when I clearly stated that I was aiming for ONENESS & UNITY? We all have to take the initiative to believe in ourselves & our own strength in an effort to show the spirit of brotherhood/sisterhood, and not base our beliefs on other people\'s opinions and limitations etc. Using my personal expression of art (the video) as a measuring stick of AFRICAN UNITY seems pretty absurd dont you think?

I actually encourage more people to create and express themselves through whatever inspires them to show their pride in Mamma Africa. I just need for you (and anyone else who feels the way you do) to understand that the video is a personal art/expression that I chose to share with everyone & so there will be no part 2 (unless ofcourse I get another bout of inspiration to do so).

2. Even if I wanted to show each and every single city in Africa, I really dont think Id have the opportunity to do all that because, there will always be those who will feel under- represented or mis- represented, thats why I try to keep it original to my personal beliefs and inspirations.

3. Youtube only allows a maximum of 10 minutes per video upload and there are millions upon millions of beautiful & magnificent cities in the continent of Africa (that includes all cities in Zambia). My original (rough cut) video was about 28 minutes long & I had to edit & remove way too many slides. So 10 minutes to work with and thousands of cities to represent??? Well, it was virtually impossible for me to please every single African, so I dont even know if its appropriate for me to apologize for something that was beyond my control. I have love for everyone, (including Zambians), I was just limited by youtube thats all.

4. Like I already mentioned (somewhere above in this response) the video is a REPRESENTATION of what the western media neglects to show the rest of the world. I assure you that the video WAS NOT created with the intention of showing that there are African countries better than others (those I didnt get a chance to show).

So kindly refrain from creating a non- existence issue (the whole idea that I caused segregation by creating the a video that caused other Africans to feel left out). We really have much more serious issues affecting countries back home & people in dire need that this video shouldnt ever ever be a reason to create segregation issues.
Its just a video thats all, I am absolutely elated when it inspires someone etc & when people express any form of disappointment I really have no words to say to them... its just something I was inspired to create. I posted it knowing fully well that its impossible to cater to every single person\'s needs.

I do appreciate you taking the time to express what you said, but there is no need to feel segregated based on one person\'s work of art & opinion. My intention was to promote integration & encourage UNITY & ONENESS. The deeper meaning behind my inspiration was to show that we are all capable of taking care of ourselves and our own. I needed for everyone to believe that Africans (as a people) CAN & WILL always prevail. The entire world has been conditioned into associating Africa w/ diseases, poverty & war among other social ills and I wanted to show a REPRESENTATION of GROWTH & POSITIVITY.

I have not planned on a \"next time\" video but I hope other people out there will feel just as inspired as I was when I created the video.

Thank you most kindly,
One Love
Lo (Enigmaress)

If we need to get rid of all the sickness in the world and to know where we came from it's Africa.We don't need Africa to be raped any more we need to get it back on it's feet.
